Sunshine Slush

The subtle spiced flavor makes this a great nonalcoholic drink for entertaining.

      1-1/2 cups water
      1/2 cup sugar
      2 inches stick cinnamon
      3/4 cup frozen Florida orange juice concentrate, thawed
      3/4 cup frozen Florida grapefruit juice concentrate, thawed
      1 1-liter bottle carbonated water, chilled

In a small saucepan combine the water, sugar, and stick cinnamon.  Bring to boiling; reduce heat.  Cover and simmer for 5 minutes.   Remove and discard the cinnamon stick.  Cool.

In a bowl or pitcher combine the sugar mixture and thawed concentrates.  Stir until combined.  Pour mixture into a 9x5x3- or 11x7x1-1/2-inch baking pan.  Freeze for several hours or until firm.

To serve, let mixture stand at room temperature about 20 minutes.  For form a slush, scrape a large spoon across the frozen mixture.   Divide mixture into 8 glasses.  Slowly pour the carbonated water down the side of each glass.  Stir gently to mix.  Serve with swizzle sticks or straws.   Serve at once.

Makes 8 (7-ounce) servings.
